Bali's Daily Surf Report

11.05.08 01:00 Age: 5 days

Finally a decent swell to start the season off in Bali. Sorry for no report yesterday as the net was down and the waves were pumping. Im guessing everyone was out surfing.   Uluwatu was a solid 3mtres with outside corner working for the first time this year. Most of the day the wind was steady and the tides changed quick but messy. There was about 30 guys on it early as the tide was low early and at its best at mid to low tide.   As the day continued so did the swell slowly rising and at the end of the day there was a solid swell hitting the reefs.   Padang Padang was solid with about 30 surfers on it with 20 photoghraphers aswell, myself being one. Great waves but not alot of sets. Rizal and Rob Machado were out doing there best. But Teko our surfguide picked up 3 of the major sets getting himself some solid barrels. The swell hung around all afternoon as the tides dropped and the wind came to a stop. Not classic Padang but good enough.   Bingin was crowded but no barrels as the swell was to big for there and a little bumpy and fat. The swell seems to be hanging around for the entire week with around 2mtre swells with slight winds. Looking forward to a solid week of good waves and winds.   All the Best   The Rapture Team

The waves for today the 12th of May , dropped slightly with slight offshore winds in uluwatu , padang padang , bingin , impossibles dreamland and balagan. Solid 4ft waves at most breaks with crowds on all breaks accept balagan. This morning we opted for surfing over in Keramas and it was a perfect option with only about 15 guys on it untill about midday when strong onshore winds and rain hit Kermas. But there were some barrels had by all the crew. Itchy our surf guide arrived last night from Australia and we were on it early but on his second wave he pulled into what seemed to be a nice barrel only to close out and come up to find out that his board had broken into 3 pieces , after about an hour of anger he could only laugh about it.

Tomorrow looks promossing with 2 mtre swells still hanging around for the week , but there looks like rain.

Our surf school surfers have been surfing locally and still getting some nices waves before the high tide hits.

All the best and keep on surfing
