This is Rapture 2010 - Rapture Surf Camp Portugal

created by andi.aniser, updated at 2010-07-17 10:20:58

The last week and especially the days since the last surf report we had it all. Super smooth 0,5 - 1 ft waves, a bit higher little bit messy 2 ft, 3 - 4 ft solid surf and a super-messy and heavy wind-swell of up to 6 ft. Crazy how fast it can change. But everyone in the Surfcamp was out the back catching and surfing green waves our home surf break Foz do Lizandro. Some with a little help others without. Especially the girls loved our surf-guide Dave because he was getting them out the back into the line-up and sometimes pushing them into their first green waves. It's funny how a little extra-confidence and extra-boost can change the whole story with surfing and make it all so easy. Wish he could do that do me on solid 5 - 6 ft swell at the reefbreaks here and push me into offshore barrels. Come on Davo, let's do this;)
But we had also sad times this week. A few of the crew where mourning a friend back home. RIP Archie. We had a bonfire at the beach to his honour and it was sick. Sometimes a shared moment like this helps to come over blue times. Guess that's what really counts in life.
