This has been a super week for beginners here in Ericeira for the last couple of days. Since the last surf report the conditions got smaller and less windy which made it so easy for the beginners to catch their first green waves and gain some experience in the line-up. We had almost no wind during all those days and yesterday we even had offshore-winds for the first time in over 2 months. So a lot of surfing was going on ... 2 long surf sessions were standard and on some days even 3. People were hardly to get out of the water as we also had super hot weather well above 30° Celsius.

The Rapture Surf Camp Portugal in Ericeira is pumping at the moment. We are pretty much fully booked with only a few dorm beds to have in the surfcamp. For the first time our 2 new double-rooms are rented and people are loving them. The only place still available being the nice appartements next door. Also the new garden area is finally really lively with guests all over the place ... sun-baking, reading, playing chess or just chilling. Also we had a few birthdays to celebrate so a lot of party was going on. Good to see people having a good time. That's worth so much.

The last week and especially the days since the last surf report we had it all. Super smooth 0,5 - 1 ft waves, a bit higher little bit messy 2 ft, 3 - 4 ft solid surf and a super-messy and heavy wind-swell of up to 6 ft. Crazy how fast it can change. But everyone in the Surfcamp was out the back catching and surfing green waves our home surf break Foz do Lizandro. Some with a little help others without. Especially the girls loved our surf-guide Dave because he was getting them out the back into the line-up and sometimes pushing them into their first green waves.

Yesterday was a "Super-Sunday" in the Surfcamp. In the morning we went down with the beginners and fun little white-wash waves made it easy to try take-offs. Everyone stood up and got the feeling what makes surfing so special: the push and accelaration and then the gliding. It was a bit messy for those who already paddle out in the line-up and it was not too easy to catch a wave to surf as peaks were shifting around a lot, but everyone caught some and was happy.

The last few days the massive swells we had were dying off and we having perfect conditions for beginners now as the waves are more gentle and forgiving.
