Thank you so much for the wonderful experience at your surf camp in Bali. The waves were so incredible, the beaches are so beautiful and the local people working for you are so kind and nice, they sure do have a lot of love. I can see why all the girls love your wife Maggie, she is so nice.

The experience was more than what i was wondering it would be like. Your surf-camp in Bali so awesome,. You have a surf camp for the surfing experience of a real surf camp with experienced surf-instructors for all levels and ages that make you feel safe when your in the water and fun when your at the camp.

Can’t wait to come back and see the new surf villas you are building over by Green Ball surf spot.. You have it all for the people on the budget to the ones that want to enjoy more and spend more on the private upper do settings in the new surf villas. Decided on a trip to Bali for this winter 17th November to 2nd December and couldn’t have had better weather. I chose rapture camps off the back of reviews and the location and as I hadn’t been to Bali before I didn’t know any of the places to surf which was the main purpose of my trip. Rapture offers surf guiding for the intermediate surfer which was second to none, we explored/surfed some fantastic places I hadn’t even heard of or seen on any maps really was an experience. the whole team at rapture are really friendly and helpful you feel like part of the family when you are there. I also experienced the beginner surf guiding and lessons as sometimes we surfed the same locations and I really rated the service and quality of what I saw. For the whole 2 weeks I was there people came and went and no one failed to ride a wave and to me that is testament to this place and the experience which is so chilled I wish I had been there longer. Great Holiday

I recently returned to australia after a trip to stay at rapture surf camp in bali, i would like to thank the crew at rapture for the perfect surfing experience!! i have never been to bali before and i was a little bit lost, i was greeted at the airport by guest and taken to the camp where i was showed around! the good was great , hospitality unreal , they really go out of there way to try and accommodate you! Camp was clean!! The best part of the trip was surfing being a intermediate surfer i didnt want to surf with alot of crowds, i was shown nearly the whole island of bali and surfed some magnificent waves with just a couple out! i cant wait to save some more money and come back!!

Keep Uluwatu clean – Eco Surf Rescue Uluwatu

Australian pro surfer helps keep Uluwatu clean.

Just over a year ago I posted about Eco Surf Rescue Uluwatu (ESRU), an organization that is dedicated to maintaining Bali’s iconic surf break and strives to keep Uluwatu clean and beautiful for surfers and other visitors alike.

In this still-underdeveloped location, it’s especially important to be careful and clean – and in order to do that a lot of work needs to be done. Uluwatu lacks the infrastructure to deal with waste and pollution problems that come with development and a growing number of visitors. So far ESRU has cleaned up trash from the ravine as well as instituted both a recycling program and rubbish collection system. They’re also currently working on creating an important liquid waste management system.

Fresh from a quality effort at the Billabong Pipe Masters in Hawaii, Australian pro surfer Owen Wright has donated one of his boards – a custom model which he rode during this year’s Fiji Pro – to be auctioned off in support of ESRU and their efforts to keep Uluwatu clean. The profits will be put towards the installation of the liquid waste management system.

Owen has been coming to Uluwatu since he was only 12 years old, always staying with the same family. It’s his favorite place on the island. According to Wright in this press release, Bali is synonymous with Uluwatu. It’s where he’s always gone and he considers it the best. But he is also concerned, like many surfers today, about the strains tourism are putting on one of the world’s top surf spots.

From an interview with Owen on the ESRU website:

Hey, the thing about every generation is they are just surfers – and we’re thinking about the waves and don’t always look at that [the environment]. I know it’s true for me at least. People are more concerned now than back in the day. Surfing was pretty small and it’s just blown up, that’s why you see so many warungs and buildings on this cliff.

Recent fundraising efforts for Eco Surf Rescue Uluwatu include Rip Curl t-shirt sales ($5,465 US) and an auction of art and surf memorabilia ($12,000 US). Not bad!

Rapture Camp Bali

Only been for one week, but wish it could have been many more,
Fantastic place to stay, learn to surf, enjoy the beautiful more quiet part of Bali and relax.
The atmosphere is great, very friendly and helpful staff and the bungalows and dorms are stunning.
Writing this i’m getting homesick to the place….I might book right now for my next holiday.
Would recommend it to anyone!!

Superb Surfcamp

By far the best surfcamp i’ve stayed at in Bali. Super friendly surf guides and staff, good food, the surf villa accommodation is about as good as it gets, location is pretty sweet too, with some of the best breaks in Bali a short ride away. I like the setup they have with all guests eating breakfast and dinner together, gives you the opportunity as a solo traveller to meet some cool people. The only downer for me was that I couldn’t stay longer – definitely going back.

My time in Bali was made that extra bit special because i spent it at the Rapture Surfcamp Bali. There is nothing bad i can say about this place. It has great rooms, staff and people staying there. The camp felt like a my family for the 2 weeks i was there. I wish my stay could have been longer.

Hopefully i’ll be back again sometime soon.
