Nasi Goreng special, meaning “Special Fried Rice” is probably the most typical dish from Indonesia. It’s a mixture of rice, vegetables, and spices (sometimes with meat, eggs, and seafood as well) all fried in a wok.

  • Instructions.
  • Ingredients.
    • Heat oil in a large skillet over high heat.
    • Drizzle sweet soy sauce over both sides of the chicken then cook until browned on both sides and cooked through.
    • Remove from skillet, allow to cool slightly then dice.
    • Add oyster sauce, fish gravy, garlic, sliced shallots and garlic.
      Add rice and sweet soy sauce.
    • Cook, breaking up the rice, until the rice is heated through and the sweet soy sauce has been evenly dispersed and stains the rice brown.
    • Add chicken and stir.
    • Transfer rice to a serving platter. Sprinkle with fried shallots, and add chicken skewer and pour peanut sauce over it.
    • Serve with pickled vegetable of your choice, sambal and peanut sauce.
    • Oyster sauce 400ml
    • Sweet soy sauce 120ml
    • Chicken breast 100g
    • Fish gravy 10ml
    • Garlic 10g
    • Shallots 20g
    • Sambal 40g
    • Peanut sauce 80g
