Welcome to Rapture Surfcamps Nicaragua, our surf resort known as the surf sanctuary of Playa Maderas. Only 2hrs drive from Nicaragua’s capital Managua and 3 hrs from Liberia airport in Costa Rica, our Nicaragua surf camp is located on the hills above Playa Maderas right outside San Juan del Sur. Our jungle setting overlooks the Pacific Ocean and is an outstanding sunset watching spot.
Nicaragua’s surf capital San Juan del Sur is a 30min drive from the campsite. The area is home to the country’s most legendary surf spots, suitable for both beginners and pros alike. At our Nicaragua surf camp we offer surf lessons by experienced and knowledgeable local instructors. To make roaming around easier, we provide shuttle service to the best surf spots in the area. Nightly shuttles to town for those willing to indulge in post-surf parties can be arranged on demand.
Our surf resort resides in a spacious villa high up in the hills over Playa Maderas. You’ll reach it in no time with our 4×4 shuttle or in 15min on foot from the bottom of the hill. You can choose to stay in group bungalows, luxurious apartments, or private glamping tents. Overlooking the jungle and the Pacific ocean, the amenities of the villa offer the maximum amount of relaxation for our guests.
Experience the exotic nature of the surroundings straight from your bed, private patio, or breakfast table. Witness one of the most beautiful sunset locations in Nicaragua from our yoga deck. The highlight of our surf camp in Nicaragua is definitely the infinity pool overlooking the jungle below and the Pacific Ocean in the distance. It offers you the ultimate view where you can soak in the breathtaking surroundings of the camp while enjoying a cooling swim or a post-surf cocktail.
After the surf it’s your choice once more: either have a yoga session on the panoramic yoga deck or jump directly into the infinity pool and have your after surf drink at the breathtaking view of a sun setting between the jungle hills over the ocean. Finally, let our chef spoil you with the delicious dishes of the day, including a variety of vegetarian and vegan options.

The water is always warm, no wetsuit needed. Bring a rash guard to protect you from sunburn while surfing. Usually, the rain happens during the night for 1 – 2 hours, this can actually be an amazing thing to watch as the storms that come with the rain can be incredible. By the time you wake up in the morning, the rain is gone and everything is dry again. The only thing you will notice is an increase in temperature and humidity.Read More
